I finally know where I am going for Physician Assistant school. After many applications, letters of recommendations, and interviews, I have chosen Wichita State's PA program.
This program is ranked highly on the US News and World Report's ranking for PA schools, and it has a very long and strong reputation. There are a number of resources at disposal for students as well. The main reason I chose the school however, was because they have both a strong program and a sizeable Spanish speaking population. Around 15% of Wichita's population speaks Spanish in the home, and there are rural rotations around Kansas where well over half of the town's population speaks Spanish. This can be attributed in part to the amount of migrant workers from Mexico. There is also an international clinical rotation that I want to take advantage of, and the possibility for an out of state 8 week rotation at the end of the 26 month period.
It is going to be a rough 26 months starting in June, but I know this is what I want and I am looking forward to moving onto the final step of my formal education.
